Fine Tuning an Aeolian Harp

3 02 2009

British artist Luke Jerram has enlisted Aerotrope’s engineering expertise  to realise his  new project, “Resonance”. Using ancient technology of the Aeolian Harp he proposes an omnidirectional structure that will sonify the surrounding landscape of wind.  The public will be able to experience the fascinating soundscape from inside this special building.

Jerram staged his first experiments with a dustbin and some fishing wire; Aerotrope will help at stage two of the project, which entails the full scale structural and acoustic engineering of this ambitious art work.
